Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2025

By using Freedible you agree to these terms. Please read them.

1. What Freedible does

Freedible is a platform that uses AI text-to-speech technology to narrate books. We provide tools to browse community-shared public domain audiobooks and to privately convert files you upload.

2. Your uploads — your responsibility

When you upload a file to Freedible, you warrant that:

Private uploads are processed solely for your personal listening. You must not upload content belonging to third parties for the purpose of making it publicly available on Freedible without their authorisation.

3. Licence you grant us

By uploading content, you grant Freedible a limited, non-exclusive, revocable licence to process and temporarily store that content solely for the purpose of generating your audiobook. We do not claim ownership of your content. Private uploads are never shared without your explicit action.

4. Community sharing

When you choose to publish a book to the Community Library, you confirm by attestation that you have the rights to do so. You grant other Freedible users a non-commercial licence to listen. You may retract public availability at any time.

5. Prohibited content

You may not upload or publish: sexually explicit material, content depicting minors in any harmful context, material that incites violence or hatred, malware or harmful code, or any content that infringes third-party rights.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Freedible, its operators, and affiliates from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your uploads, or your violation of these terms.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Freedible is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, audio quality, or availability of any specific feature. AI narration may contain errors.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Freedible shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. We'll note the date at the top of this page.
